Upper Madison Street Fair Participation Policies

Sponsors

We offer an array of attractive sponsorship opportunities. If you would like information about becoming a sponsor, please contact our Sponsorship Coordinator at sponsors@uppermadison.org.

Sponsors with a local connection to Upper Madison and/or the City of Albany are eligible for space at the fair. Sponsors with no local connection will generally not be granted a space, but may take advantage of other sponsorship benefits.

Sponsors with a space at the fair find that providing a game, activity or interesting artifact draws the most interest from fair-goers.

We do not generally accept sponsors who are direct competitors to merchants with a storefront in the Upper Madison area.

Vendors

We welcome vendors from beyond the Upper Madison area to participate in the fair at a modest fee. Our goal is to provide an eclectic combination of local food, crafts, art and activities to attract and delight attendees. We generally do not accept re-sellers of manufactured merchandise or vendors who compete directly with merchants with a storefront in the Upper Madison area.

To become a vendor apply through the appropriate form here:http://www.uppermadison.org/StreetFairApplication

Upper Madison Merchants

We offer a limited number of free spaces to merchants who are physically located in the Upper Madison Area.

The fair sells out every year, often as early as May, so we encourage interested parties approach the Street Fair Committee as soon as possible at uppermadisonmerchants@uppermadison.org.

Upper Madison Merchants are welcome to sell their product or service at the fair. If that is not appropriate for the business, merchants may provide brochures or similar marketing materials. In thes cases, we encourage merchants to provide a game, activity or interesting artifacts to engage fair goers and add to their enjoyment.

Upper Madison Not-for-Profits

We offer a limited number of free spaces not for profits who are physically located in the Upper Madison Area.

The fair sells out every year, often as early as May, so we encourage interested parties approach the Street Fair Committee as soon as possible at nfps@uppermadison.org.

We strongly encourage participants to provide a game, activity or interesting artifacts to engage fair goers and add to their enjoyment.

Not–for-Profits from Beyond the Upper Madison Area

In addition to the spaces offered to Upper Madison Area not-for-profits, we offer a limited number of free spaces to local not-for-profits from beyond the immediate Upper Madison boundaries.

The fair sells out every year, often as early as May, so interested not-for-profits should approach the Street Fair Committee as soon as possible at nfps@uppermadison.org.

We strongly encourage not-for-profits to provide a game, activity or interesting artifacts to engage fair goers and add to their enjoyment.

Not-for-profits are generally expected to meet all of the following criteria:

  • Have some explicit demonstrable role that supports the Upper Madison Area.
  • Not conduct religious recruitment or preaching at the fair., secular activities only
  • Support the Fair’s mission which is “City Living At Its Best”. This typically includes not-for-profits that focus on School/Community Enhancement, Driving Alternatives, Home Ownership, Public Safety, and Sustainability
